Mega-collector Mark Wahlberg knows his way around a fine Swiss watch. From complicated Patek Philippe world timers to white gold Rolex Submariners, he’s worn some of the finest pieces known to collectors.

The actor isn’t above the charms of an affordable watch. Just last month he was spotted wearing a humble Timex Ironman—street price: $58—during the Las Vegas Grand Prix. Recently, Wahlberg posted a video of himself going to pick up the latest Omega and Swatch product, the Mission to Earthphase – Moonshine Gold “Cold Moon.” “I got that Sky Moon,” he said, referring to a rare Patek Philippe, “now I got that Cold Moon,” he bragged.

The new “Cold Moon” is the newest in a long line of limited-edition MoonSwatches. The model’s white dial and strap complemented Wahlberg’s monochromatic ensemble perfectly, but there are plenty more reasons Wahlberg probably coveted this watch. The “Cold Moon” features a cool “Earthpase” register that displays the Earth as viewed from the Moon—a complication unique to Swatch. Released late in 2024, the Mission to Earthphase has itself seen several guises, including Mission to Moonshine versions. (Confused? Check out this handy guide to the collection.) Mission to Moonshine denotes watches that are released once a month and use Omega’s special Moonshine gold in a pattern inspired by the full moon.

While the Mission to Moonshine versions of the Mission to Earthphase watches are typically navy blue, the “Cold Moon” is blinding white. Housed in the same 42 mm Bioceramic case as the rest of the MoonSwatches, it features blue printing on its bezel and dial and boasts a cartoon of Snoopy gazing cheerfully up at the colorful Earthphase complication at 10 o’clock. Opposite this at 3 o’clock is the moonphase complication, which features double Moons with personalized, laser-etched snowflakes that are unique to each watch. Powered by a quartz movement, it comes paired to a white rubber strap with a Velcro closure and cool Omega X Swatch branding.

The watch comes with endless small Easter Eggs, including the “S” etched into the watch’s crystal in reference to the Omega symbol found on vintage Speedy crystals. There is also a secret phrase near the Snoopy and Woodstock illustration that only appears on the dial under UV light. The phrase is repeated on the Earth-shaped battery cover on the watch’s caseback. The hands are executed in a sparkly aventurine-like pattern that matches that of the night sky found within both the moonphase and Earthphase displays. Pretty darn detailed for a $450 watch, if you ask us.

However, let’s not count our Moons before they’re full. In order to snag one of these watches, you’ll have to keep the weather app on your phone handy—they’ll only be on sale in Swatch boutiques when it’s snowing in Switzerland. The good news? They’ll be available for several months, until winter officially ends on March 20, 2026. For our part? We think this is one of the best MoonSwatches in the (now-vast) lineup. We say take a page out of Wahlberg’s book, and let this be your winter watch.
