Best Nighttime D.S. & Durga Scent: Black Magenta

  • Black Magenta
  • Image may contain: Cosmetics, Bottle, Perfume, Nail Polish, and Person

Black Magenta smells like an all-inclusive resort. You’re first hit with tropical fruit notes, most notably pineapple, while tobacco lingers in the back like a devil on the shoulder. It’s a warm scent that works great no matter the time of the year, and it’s amplified by a bit of spicy black pepper.

Boozy, a touch of vanilla, and oh-so-regal, Cognac Reign is a deep, oaky fragrance made to smell like baroque music and the rowdy soirees of yesteryear. Woody top notes give way to some citrusy bergamot, a little powder, and plenty of oak and tonka bean.

Best Grassy Scent: Golfjazz

Image may contain: Bottle, Aftershave, Business Card, Paper, Text, Cosmetics, and Perfume

This is an homage to the “deep heavy green chypre/sport colognes that were ubiquitous in New England in the 80s,” according to the brand, but to us, Golfjazz smells like a basketball—or the inside of a sporting goods store—in the absolute best way possible. Senior commerce editor Ian Burke can’t get enough of this scent, and in conjunction with IDKW, it’s his daily driver.
