As we sat in a booth at Fouquet’s in New York City, Doni Nahmias’ phone pinged. “The first one sold,” he said with a smile.

A few blocks away, a surprise pop-up for the Timothee Chalamet vehicle Marty Supreme had just opened its doors to the giant lineup of fans snaking their way down Grand Street on a freezing Thursday night in November.

At the table, the pings continued.

The pop-up was minimally decorated, aside from orange ping pong ball-headed mannequins and a giant box truck full of the fluorescent plastic balls, but it hardly mattered. Everyone was there for one thing and one thing only: It was the first chance fans had to get the most coveted outerwear of 2025, the navy blue and black hooded track jacket featuring the title of Josh Safdie’s latest, in big white letters across the chest. And they were excited.

Within a matter of minutes, the jacket sold out. And of course its buzz has only grown louder since. Kid Cudi, Justin and Hailey Bieber, Tom Brady, Michael Phelps, Bill Nye, Frank Ocean, Stephen Curry, and Anthony Edwards have all donned the zip-up over the past two months. Of course, no wearer has been more important than the star himself, who has rocked the merch in a wide variety of colors, from the OG blue and black to brown to baby pink as he has traversed the world for the Marty Supreme press run. Following the first pop-up in New York City, additional stops were held around the world in Brazil, London, and Los Angeles. The constant string of exposure has turned Marty Supreme into one of the year’s biggest box office draws and the jacket into one of the most desired pieces of clothing of 2025.

“The jacket has just become the most amplified jacket on the internet,” says Nahmias. “Having all these great people wearing it just makes it that much greater. It’s like the jacket of greatness.”

The jacket isn’t the only piece of Marty Supreme merch. The sportswear-inspired lineup includes multiple colorways of the famed nylon zip-up along with matching track pants, grey fleece zip-ups featuring patches that mimic Mauser’s competitive attire in the film, caps adorned with a Jumpman-esque silhouette of Marty Mauser running through the streets of New York City that was grabbed from a scene in the movie (Nahmias’ personal favorite detail), and trinkets like paddle-shaped key chains. But nothing beats the $250 hero item, which has flipped for as much as $2,000 on the secondary market.

The 32-year-old Angelino Nahmias, Chalamet, and his stylist Taylor McNeill designed the entire line. The apparel was produced by his seven-year-old namesake label and A24 (the indie film studio has become known for pairing its biggest releases with some kind of clothing or collectible). But this Marty Supreme assortment feels more important than your run-of-the-mill movie merch, thanks in large part to Chalamet flexing his prowess as a marketing savant in the weeks leading up to the film’s Christmas day release.

“The way it’s come to life is pretty surreal,” says Nahmias. “Just getting to be a piece of the film and Timmy’s journey through all this, I’m super thankful and excited.”

Nahmias and Chalamet’s fashion connection was fostered by McNeill. She began to style the actor in Nahmias pieces and eventually pitched the possibility of some custom orders. The first one-of-ones that Nahmias designed for Chalamet were a fur hooded jacket, green polka dot boxer briefs, and a matching hoodie that he wore to host SNL in January 2025. Nahmias also contributed to Chalamet’s legendary run of courtside fits throughout the New York Knicks 2025 playoff run with an orange suede tracksuit he wore to Game Six of the Eastern Conference Finals in May 2025. But these pale in comparison to the Marty Supreme items.

As excited as fans have been to score a jacket for themselves, they almost never got the chance. Initially, the tracksuits were only supposed to be for Chalamet to wear throughout the press tour. They turned out so well that they became a key piece of the promotion for the film and released via pop-ups. As of now, to the chagrin of many eager fans, it seems like they won’t be getting a wider release.

Nahmias and Chalamet clearly have some chemistry. Don’t expect this to be their last time working together. And don’t expect the Marty Supreme merch to be the last you’ll hear of Nahmias. Along with a slew of other rappers and athletes wearing his namesake brand right now, he is also returning to Paris Fashion Week in January to hold a runway show for the first time in three years.

“We have a lot of exciting projects coming over the next six months,” says Nahmias, “so I’m just excited for everything to roll out.”
