Ming Lee Simmons has been announced as the upcoming Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover girl.

Simmons, 25, who’s the oldest daughter of Russell Simmons and Kimora Lee Simmons, will be the publication’s latest ‘rookie’ and will appear on the front cover this May.

In promotion for the magazine, the model and Baby Phat co-creative director (alongside her younger sister, Aoki Lee) poses it up in Jamaica, having done past campaigns for SKIMS, Glossier and her mother’s clothing line and more.

In an accompanying feature, Simmons spoke about undergoing spinal fusion surgery for scoliosis at 15, the procedure having left a scar. “It’s become one of my favorite parts about my body,” she told SI Swimsuit.

More recently, the model has dealt with “severe PCOS and endometriosis.”

“So not only has my weight fluctuated quite a bit (both up and down) but I have also had severe acne that I’ve had to deal with, and when I was 22 I got surgery for my endometriosis which left me with scars on my hips that I also used to be insecure about,” she explained.

Elsewhere, Simmons spoke on body positivity. “Over the years I have learned that that is easier said than done because we all can feel insecure about different things about our bodies, especially as a woman with social media and outside pressures,” she said.
