In celebration of the new Louis Vuitton x Murakami collaboration, the luxury fashion house is hosting a pop-up in New York City’s SoHo.
Featuring Chapter One of the new capsule collection, which Louis Vuitton shared a closer look at last month, the pop-up is inspired by the modular hotels of Tokyo with a minimalist interior that boasts the bold colors of Takashi Murakami’s designs. In addition to the new pieces—such as Speedy 25 and the Coussin BB—the pop-up has a retail space with an oversized vending machine, which customers can use with a token to receive stickers, trading cards, or the Takashi Murakami Flower Go Walk portable games.
Alongside the retail space, visitors can check out some of the archival pieces from previous LV x Murakami pieces. There’s also a care station for older pieces, and a cinema featuring the Superflat Monogram Film from 2003, and the Superflat First Love film from 2009. During the weekend of January 10-12, anyone who purchases from the pop-up will gain access to a cafe with plenty of Murakami design flourishes.
LV will celebrate the collaborative reunion in other cities around the world, including Tokyo, Singapore, Shanghai, Seoul, Milan, and London.
