Kyle Kuzma and Winnie Harlow will soon be walking down the aisle.

In a Valentine’s Day-themed Instagram post from Tuesday (January 18), the couple announced that they’re now engaged, with the carousel showing them aboard a private flight and surrounded by a rose Venus et Fleur floral arrangement. The latter clip showed Harlow being surprised by her mother and sister.

According to Vogue, the proposal went down in the Turks & Caicos, where Kuzma and Harlow visited for the first time together in 2022.

Kuzma reportedly began reading Harlow a poem on the flight after asking her to sit next to him.

“For a split second in my head I thought, ‘This would be so cute if this was an engagement,’” Harlow told Vogue. “But I’m also not the type of person who wants to guess or wants to spoil a surprise. So it just was a fleeting thought in my head.”

The Milwaukee Bucks forward then presented his girlfriend of roughly five years with an 8.5 carat, oval-cut diamond engagement ring. “I never really asked her what type of ring she liked or anything,” Kuzma said. “I just wanted to draw a picture of what I felt resembled her — something that was elegant, but very timeless and simplistic at the same time.”

As the couple are now “over the moon” about their pending marriage, Kuzma and Harlow have dated since 2020, although the basketball star tried to contact his now-fiancée via Instagram DM the year before.

“So, I got a DM a year prior from my boyfriend and I’d never seen it. I don’t know what the glitch in the system with Instagram is, but that never came up for me,” Harlow explained around the 1-minute mark her 2021 appearance on Ellen below. “A year later at the top of quarantine, he DMed me again, he posted a picture of me in an outfit and i was like, ‘Oh, hi.'”
