Jennifer Lawrence’s eclectic winter style looks way more complicated than it actually is. In fact, I’d wager the outfits she wears in between Die My Love press events are built on the same comfy basics you have in your closet right now—and it only takes two elements to turn them into a J.Law-approved ‘fit.
Let’s start with the ultra-comfy outfit Lawrence just wore out in New York City just a couple days ago. Taking a break from her summer clogs by Rothy’s, J.Law stepped out in a pair of Ugg’s black Tasman Slippers, pairing the shearling-lined slip-ons with cream sweatpants and a blue hoodie. Sound like something you’d wear for a Dunkin’ Donuts run while hoping you don’t see anyone you know? Exactly.
What transformed this look into a true representation of Lawrence’s winter style was the addition of one of her go-to wool coats and a statement bag. Like so many other celebrities in fall 2025, Lawrence has made the long top coat a staple of her Q4 wardrobe, this time adding a silky floral hobo bag with gold shoulder chain. While she wore a similar combo in 2023, though she kept everything other than her red hoodie monochromatic, down to her black Adidas Sambas. Two years later, she’s perfected the formula with one new addition.
The truth is that a long coat and a playful pop of pattern is all it takes to elevate the most casual look, as Lawrence proves time and time again this winter. Earlier this week, she wore soft blue pants so loose they completely shrouded her cool Nike Air Rift Breathe split-toe sneakers and dragged on the New York City concrete. Instead of looking sloppy, however, Lawrence looked effortlessly elegant, thanks to a luxurious cream coat and leopard-print shoulder bag.
That doesn’t mean you have to stop with one pattern. For good measure, Lawrence contrasted the animal print on her bag with the same striped pink scarf she wore with an olive green wool coat and leopard pillbox hat back in November. And what served as the base of that look? A pair of sweatpants, white t-shirt, and…drumroll please…comfortable clogs.
