Gen Z It Girl Jenna Ortega just stepped out at the (sob! Last in Utah!) Sundance Film Festival carrying a designer-adjacent purse that’s surprisingly affordable. Heading to the premiere of her film The Gallerist, which co-stars fellow petite queen Natalie Portman, Ortega accessorized with a compact handbag from a trendy brand, JW PEI.
The vegan leather Carmen Top Handle Bag, which Ortega has in green, is just $119 (or $101 for certain shades on Amazon) and comes in a dozen colors, whatever suits your mood. Jenna Ortega often throws these more affordable pieces into her rotation, like her under-$100 sneakers or an Old Navy bag.
The rest of her outfit was a militaristic dress by Mugler in shades of tan, a nice break from Ortega’s often black wardrobe without going in a colorful direction that wouldn’t suit her or fit with her image. And, at this point, we can tell she just doesn’t want to dress in brights or pastels.

The commitment to neutrals was shared by her co-stars Portman and Charli XCX, who both wore shades of brown to the premiere. Portman opted for a long coat (bearing an ICE OUT pin) over a black turtleneck, while Charli paired a bodycon dress with a lace-trimmed clear plastic poncho.
