We now know what Bianca Censori’s BIO POP (THE ORIGIN) is, and furniture does play a key part after all.

Thursday (Dec. 11), Censori launched the previously teased project in Seoul, revealing—as had been speculated, including by this very publication—that it does indeed mark her first major work in the performance art space.

A note shared to Censori’s official website says BIO POP is intended to stage “the body inside the language of the domestic,” with the artist first seen baking a cake in a kitchen “before carrying it into a dining room where women—masked, dark-haired doubles of herself—are restrained inside her sculptural furniture.”

Per press notes, the cake is not merely a cake but instead an “offering,” of sorts, as part of a larger design reframing “domestic service” as “spectacle.”

The artist formerly known as Kanye West, Censori’s partner (who has himself employed the performance art approach throughout his career), was in attendance for the project’s launch. BIO POP, according to Censori, is the first in a series that will grow to include “reliquaries, confessions, sacrifices, and rebirth” in the years ahead.

A follow-up performance art work, dubbed CONFESSIONAL (THE WITNESS), is slated to be staged next year. The current plan is for this to be followed by another 2026 project, BIANCA IS MY DOLL BABY (THE IDOL), with additional works listed for 2027 and beyond.

Jewelry and accessories designed by Censori are also now available, including a sterling silver cuff in a mirrored finish inspired by “the functional contours of a medical speculum.” The price for the piece, which is handmade to order, is currently listed at $2,250.

Censori’s ongoing project is currently expected, at least according to this self-shared schedule, to conclude in 2032 with BUBBLE (THE ASCENSION). Details on that specific work remain unclear for now.
