At this point, we need to stop acting like Ben Affleck’s sneaker game is a surprise. When you directed and co-starred in maybe the only good version of a shoe company biopic that will ever exist, you probably get the keys to the vault. Like, literally, if there is a vault, Affleck probably had a key to it at some point. He’s been known to lace up all manner of rare Air Jordans and Nike SB Dunks, and of course a regular rotation of New Balances—a Bostonian through and through. Speaking of, for a Boston sports die-hard Affleck sure is a regular sight courtside at Lakers games. Last week he pulled up for a game against the visiting Golden State Warriors with his son Samuel Garner Affleck, with father and son both kitted out in some serious heat.

Affleck finished off a low-key killer winter fit (topcoat, thick turtleneck, and classic chinos, all in neutral tones) with a pair of legendary white Nike Air Force 1s: Virgil Abloh’s Off-White edition, released as a part of the original ‘The Ten’ collection back in 2017. Any pair of kicks from ‘The Ten’ is a major flex, with most silhouettes from the line going for upwards of $1,000 on resale platforms. Again, that’s where the keys to the vault (literal or proverbial) come in handy.

While we’re personally partial to Virgil’s hyper-limited colorway produced to commemorate Chicago’s Museum of Modern Art, there really aren’t any misses in his takes on the Air Force 1. It’s hard to screw up one of the more perfect sneaker silhouettes of all time.
One pair wasn’t enough for the Affleck men, though—Samuel got in on the fun as well, pulling up courtside in a white LeBron jersey over a Denim Tears hoodie, Chrome Hearts sweatpants, and a pair of black Off-White Forces to match his dad’s. Even in youth sizing they’re pretty tough kicks to come by, though if there’s a time to bust some heat out of the box it’s when you’re sitting courtside at the Cryto.com Arena. More than any other arena in basketball, fans tend to treat a night out at the Lake Show like their own personal Fashion Week. The Lakers took home the dub that night, though in terms of the fits in the stands the Afflecks most definitely went home winners. Such is the power of Virgil.
