Fresh off of announcing a landmark 10-year partnership with Texas Tech last month, Adidas is now partnering with both Patrick Mahomes and his alma mater for a new NIL (name, image, and likeness) initiative.

Adidas and Mahomes have announced the signing of Micah Hudson (football), NiJaree Canady (softball), Jasmine Shavers (basketball), Matthew Comegys (golf), Sam Courtwright (soccer) and TJ Pompey (baseball) to Team Mahomes. As part of the deal, the aforementioned Texas Tech student-athletes will appear in upcoming Adidas campaigns, including ones tied to Mahomes’ Adidas signature shoe and apparel line.

“The creation of Team Mahomes further positions Texas Tech Athletics as a national leader in NIL. This wouldn’t be possible without a tremendous partner in Adidas that believes strongly in investing in our student-athletes under the Patrick Mahomes brand,” Kirby Hocutt, the director of athletics at Texas Tech University, said. “In this era of sports, there aren’t many generational athletes like Patrick Mahomes who promote their alma mater so proudly and give back in such a meaningful manner.”

Additionally, Adidas confirmed that all eligible Texas Tech student-athletes can join its NIL Ambassador Network, which affords them the chance to benefit from their name, image, and likeness.
