Sneaker Shopping and Card Shopping host Joe La Puma links up with Stranger Things alum Caleb McLaughlin in an exclusive look at GOAT, a new animated film produced by Steph Curry.
In the film, inspired by Chris Tougas’s Funky Dunks book, McLaughlin plays Will Harris, who, in a scene premiering exclusively through Complex, opts to sell his most-prized possession: a pair of Fillmore 4 sneakers.
“Boom, check these out,” McLaughlin’s character, a goat, tells La Puma’s character, a vulture and sneaker shop owner named Sneaky.
From there, Will (McLaughlin) notes that the sneakers question typically go for “around six,” but offers to let them go for a mere five.
“Pristine upper mesh, taut laces,” La Puma’s Sneaky responds, ultimately giving the sneakers a taste and declaring they possess a certain “nutty” quality.

GOAT is slated to hit theaters on Feb. 13. Tyree Dillihay serves as director, with Adam Rosette credited as a co-director. McLaughlin and La Puma are joined in the voice cast by Gabrielle Union, Steph Curry, Nick Kroll, David Harbour, Jennifer Hudson, and more.
The story, which focuses on McLaughlin’s character’s journey toward superstardom in the world of a sport known as “roarball,” isn’t the only high-profile, Curry-produced project of note this year.
The Baddest Speechwriter of All, a short film focused on Martin Luther King Jr.’s lawyer and speechwriter Clarence B. Jones, recently netted the Short Film Grand Jury Prize at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival. Complex had a chance to see the film, and we can confirm it stands tall as one of the most accomplished offerings from this year’s festival slate. Curry is not only a producer on the project, but also the interviewer of Jones, who speaks with inspiring vulnerability about his life story.
