What makes this one stand out is that it pulls double duty: It’s both a physical scrub and a chemical exfoliator. Since using it twice a week, my skin has noticeably smoothed out. When you first apply it, you’ll feel a fine charcoal powder that helps absorb oil and debris, while volcanic pumice works to gently slough off dead skin. I go in with about five dollops, and while it starts off gritty, it quickly softens as you lather. My skin feels significantly smoother, especially around my biceps and quads, which tend to harbor dry skin.
The chemical side of things—AHA, BHA, and PHA—really carries its weight here. These ingredients help refine texture, clear out pores, and improve overall tone, all while being gentler than your average scrub. You’ve also got glycerin to keep things hydrated, niacinamide to calm any redness, and vitamin E for that antioxidant boost.
One thing I’ve witnessed since exfoliating regularly is that my other products actually sink in instead of just sitting on top. I always follow up with a bar soap or body wash to rinse away any leftover particles, loosened skin, and excess residue. I like this stuff so much, I’m considering leveling up, specifically to tackle that post-summer, pool-day back peeling with the brand’s exfoliating bar set. Because if we’re committing to smooth skin, we might as well go all in.
