Some people show up to sporting events in team merch. Others arrive in designer fits. DJ Khaled? He pulled up to the Reserve Cup Miami on Friday, January 23 by boat and casually debuted an ultra-rare watch reportedly worth more than most luxury homes.
As seen in photos published by Getty Images, the 50-year-old Grammy-winning producer was dressed in all black, with what OK! Magazine identified as a “limited-edition Rolex Daytona” clearly visible on his wrist.
Soon after the images began circulating, Complex Style clarified that the piece was a Rolex Cosmograph Daytona commonly referred to as the “Blue Sapphire.”
Crafted in 18-carat white gold and finished with a bezel set with baguette-cut blue sapphires, the ultra-exclusive Daytona is reportedly valued at more than $1.8 million.
This isn’t the first time Khaled has flexed his horological obsession. Just last month, the hip-hop mogul sat down with Joe La Puma for Complex Presents On Display, where he walked through an extensive lineup of luxury watches and vehicles worth millions. The collection included pieces tied to artists like 21 Savage and Drake, collaborations with Travis Scott, and more than two dozen timepieces overall — including a watch gifted to him by Jay-Z.
Beyond the watch moment, Reserve Cup Miami delivered a full weekend of action. The tournament wrapped on Saturday, January 24, following three days of competition at the Reserve Miami Seaplane Base. According to a press release published January 27, the sold-out event welcomed “12 of the world’s top-ranked padel players and over 6,000 fans,” splitting the field into two teams,
Team Miami was led by Derek Jeter and featured a stacked lineup that included Miguel Yanguas, Agustín Tapia, Lucas Bergamini, Gonzalo Alfonso, Alejandro Galán, and Jon Sanz.
On the other side, Team Reserve was captained by Jimmy Butler and included Arturo Coello, Federico Chingotto, Franco Stupaczuk, Francisco Guerrero, Javier Leal, and Javier Garrido.
When it was all said and done, Team Reserve “claimed victory and was awarded the coveted Reserve Cup trophy.”
