As the old adage goes, The wolf changes his coat, but not his disposition. And let me tell you, we here at GQ HQ love little more than changing our coats. When the temperatures drop, we crave hearty outerwear; at the spring’s first thaw, we yearn for light-jacket season.

In 2025, we spent all year coveting outer layers of many sorts. The Oasis reunion and its accompanying parkas made us reconsider gorpcore, while Timothée Chalamet’s Marty Supreme jacket made us reconsider…the state of the world and all of our life choices. We revisited the classics (Burberry trenches, Barbour barn jackets) and embraced the redux (nylon tracksuits, indie-sleaze military jackets).
