Kim Kardashian testified about her fears that she’d be “shot dead” when she was the target of a 2016 robbery in Paris.

On Tuesday (May 13), the testimony was given at Palais de Justice in Paris, France, with Kardashian recounting the 3 a.m. incident that occurred during that year’s Paris Fashion Week. At the time, Kardashian was married to Ye, formerly Kanye West, who rushed from a New York performance to come to his then-wife’s aid.

According to NBC News, Kardashian explained that she was tormented by the thought that her older sister, Kourtney Kardashian, would find her deceased in the hotel room and have the “memory forever.”

“They threw me on the bed and the smaller one started to tie my hands,” the mother of four explained. “I started to freak out,” she continued, recounting that she asked the detained concierge, “what is going to happen to us?”

Kardashian also told one of the robbers that she needed to “go home” to return to her “babies,” North and Saint West, although the attacker said he “didn’t know” she was a mother. “Then they tied me up and I was hysterical,” she added.

The influencer and entrepreneur, who also thought she would be raped during the encounter, was also read an apology note written by one of the defendants, Aomar Ait Khedache, who is deaf and mute. While the apology, which was read aloud by the judge, made Kardashian “very emotional,” she explained that it “doesn’t change the emotions, the feeling and the trauma and the fact that my life has forever changed.”

The robbers stole roughly $10 million in jewelry after holding Kardashian at gunpoint and left her unharmed. Kardashian emotionally opened up about the experience in a 2017 episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, along with David Letterman’s My Next Guest Needs No Introduction.

Also sharing their regrets behind the robbery was Yunice Abbas, who wrote 2021 book, translated to English as I Kidnapped Kim Kardashian.
